Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Torchlight Procession

Dates for next event to be confirmed

2022 will mark the year that Her Majesty the Queen becomes the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service. To celebrate the Queen’s historic reign, Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival Committee are organising a special Torchlight Procession which will take place on the evening of Thursday 2nd June, the first day of an extended 4-day bank holiday.

Join in this iconic event as participants walk with flaming torches through Langmoor Gardens down to the seafront and on to the sandy beach where a ring of fire is formed before the Mayor of Lyme Regis lights a beacon on the North Wall of the harbour.

We'd love to see as many people as possible join the procession as torchbearers or just come along and watch this wonderful spectacle from the gardens or along the seafront.

It’s a wonderful experience for those taking part and a truly breathtaking spectacle for those watching.

Reserve your place in the procession by purchasing your torches and LED foam batons in advance online.

Torches are available for £5 each. Foam LED batons for children under 16 cost just £3.00.

The procession starts from the entrance to Langmoor and Lister Gardens.

Purchase your torches or light sticks online and collect from 8pm just before the start of the procession at the entrance to Langmoor and Lister Gardens. Numbers are limited so reserve your torches early to avoid disappointment.
